Perivale End of Summer Fayre and Parade
Completed Project
Project Date(s): September 2017
We are looking for enthusiastic, fun, community-minded people to come and join in the great event that is our Perivale End of Summer Parade and Fayre. This is the third successive year that we’ve put it on and we’re super-excited about this one.
The day will start with a parade of local community groups, vintage vehicles and performers, culminating in a country festival style fayre at Perivale’s Lower Thrift Field, just behind the Community Centre. There will be a beer tent, a music and performance stage, a petting zoo, pony rides, a climbing wall, fairground rides and local community stalls.
We are inviting local schools, scout groups, churches and community organisations to participate. The last two years have seen attendance in excess of 1000 people over the course of the day, we want this to be an inclusive event that welcomes the people of Perivale and its surrounding areas to the neighbourhood. I have met some great people and made lifelong friends in helping to organise this event.
The Perivale Festivals committee is a volunteer, not-for-profit organisation, of which I am vice-chair. We have been organising events around the locality since 2012. We welcome you with open arms to our event.
We are actively looking for:
Volunteers: people with outgoing, friendly personalities who are willing to give up a few hours on either Saturday the 16th Sept (for setup) and / or Sunday 17th. Volunteers must be willing to muck in, erect marquees, clear up mess, marshall crowds and help pack down at the end of the day. It’s hard work but the look on the faces of the children and families who attend is priceless. You will be in great company and make new friends along the way.
Performers: We are always keen to give a platform to local talent, of which there seems to be plenty! If you can sing, play an instrument, juggle, walk on stilts, make balloon animals, face-paint or have a talent we need to know about, please get in touch!
Schools/Community Groups – We are always looking to strengthen our bonds with community organisations within the neighbourhood. If you have a significant role in one please do get in touch, we need to talk!
