Ealing Council has a duty to meet the care and support needs of vulnerable adults, children, and carers in the borough where they meet eligibility criteria.

This could include adults living with dementia, autistic adults, those with mental health challenges, physical disabilities or sensory impairments or learning disabilities. Ealing Council social care services use a number of different organisations including private companies and voluntary sector organisations to deliver services on their behalf. We call these organisations Providers. To make sure we use Providers that can deliver what our customers require they must make an application based on what is needed.

When they apply, we send them a ‘service specification’. This outlines all the requirements that the organisation needs to meet when they deliver services on behalf of the council. We will be inviting applications from Providers to deliver the following services:

• Domiciliary care for adults: where a care worker provides help with daily living and personal care in a person’s home.
• Domiciliary care for children: where a care worker provides care for children in their own home.
• Extra care: where care workers provide help with daily living and personal care for people living in an extra care housing setting.
• Day opportunities for adults: this can include both day centre activities or community activities for adults with a range of health or social care needs.
• Floating support for adults: to help people live independently at home and develop confidence and skills.
