African and Caribbean Research Advisory Group

We are looking for people with direct lived experienced as patients, carers, relatives or friends of older people using health and social care services to be part of our research advisory group.

The African and Caribbean Research advisory group will play an instrumental role in shaping the health research agenda for older people within the African and Caribbean community in the UK.

Your direct experiences and interactions with all aspects of health and social care will support the advisory group in promoting the need for equitable research of the care needs of African and Caribbean communities, and improve understandings of the health and wellbeing of older African and Caribbean people in the UK.

The monthly meetings will focus on issues relating to the care of older people from African and Caribbean communities. Updates on emerging research and topic presentations by researchers at University of West London, The Geller Institute for Aging and Memory.

What would be expected of you?

One hour a month at a mutually convenient time and date- online or in person, to meet as an advisory group to provide feedback on research projects.

Bi-monthly updates on research in progress or emerging ideas for research, presentations from leading researchers, and payment for your time.
