Action West London

Ongoing Project

Action West London is a respected charity and social enterprise and has been established for 20 years (previously known as Action Acton) . It’s Mission is ‘to provide opportunities for disadvantaged young people and adults to change their lives through Employment, Education, and Enterprise’

AWL helps some of the most disadvantaged people in society– including women, NEET young people, long term unemployed, people from black and ethnic minority communities, lone parents, older people, refugees, and people living in poverty.  AWL achieves it’s Mission through a wide range of education, training, employment, self -employment and social enterprise projects. Support is provided for those people facing the most barriers to education, training and employment. AWL also runs Acton Street Market 4 days a week providing self- employment for local people and community cohesion. AWL is launching an innovative social enterprise Recruitment agency (Action Talent) which will work with Employers to help them promote social mobility by recruiting talented candidate from diverse communities.   AWL works in partnership with a range of agencies and local and employee volunteers.

Volunteer opportunities vary according to the different projects we run at any one time. The opportunities are primarily during the daytime.
